Microsoft President Brad Smith says the dystopian world described by George Orwell in his novel "1984," where totalitarian surveillance was part of life, could soon become reality., even starting in 2024, if artificial intelligence doesn't start to be better regulated. In the novel published in 1949, Orwell explored themes such as government surveillance, totalitarianism and how a dictator can manipulate and control lives by knowing what people are doing and saying at any given moment. Smith worries that if we adopt the kind of artificial intelligence described in such dystopian novels, complete control of a nation under a totalitarian regime is absolutely possible. We discuss it in detail, today, from 19.00, LIVE, on YouTube
