Last but not least, system software will be used to manage hardware components, but also to provide basic functions;
• Application software, used to perform various tasks. This includes a variety of programs, from games to operating systems. databases or educational software. By application software we mean both a single program and a whole collection of smaller programs that together perform a certain function. For consumers, this type of software is the most popular;
• Programming software, more precisely a set of tools that help in the software development process. A software engineer or developer will use this type of tools to write new programs. In this category we talk about compilers, debuggers, linkers, text editors and so on.
