Koding Tech Select Episode 25

Hello everyone! Yes, it's Wednesday again and yes, we have some great news from the world of technology again. So, whether you're already on vacation or stuck in traffic on your way home, Koding Tech Select, our #madeincotroceni column, is a great listen to stay up to date with what's happening in the world.

Let's see what we found interesting from what we read these days:

For Windows 11, Microsoft decided to replace the famous blue screen with a black one. Thus, the new version will be aligned with the new version of the login and shutdown screens. Even so, we are sure that the era of jokes about the blue screen of death is not over.

Sotheby's, the famous auction house, sold the non-fungible token (NFT) Sir Tim Berners-Lee of the World Wide Web for $5.4 million. A historic moment, we say.

Slack filed a complaint against Microsoft, accusing the tech giant of bundling Teams with its cloud-based productivity suite, Microsoft365. „Microsoft illegally bundled the Teams product into its market-dominant Office productivity suite and hid the true cost to its customers,” Slack officials said.

Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has been banned in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The move is the latest sign that regulators are cracking down on the cryptocurrency industry, due to concerns about its potential role in illegal activities such as money laundering and fraud, as well as its poor level of consumer protection.

Microsoft releases emergency patch for Windows, to fix a critical bug in the Windows Print Spooler service. The vulnerability, dubbed PrintNightmare, was disclosed last week after security researchers accidentally published proof-of-concept exploit code (PoC).

Several verified accounts on Gettr, the new social media platform from Jason Miller, an advisor to former President Trump, have apparently been attacked by hackers. In short, the account headers of several Republicans, including Miller, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, were replaced with the message „@JubaBaghdad was here 🙂 ^^ free palestine^^ .” Twitter user @JubaBaghdad said it was easy to do this, and that his goal was to have a little fun.
